PDC1200 Video Overlay
The microprocessor controlled PDC1200 receives data from a GPS receiver and converts it to a video overlay display. You can even use a handheld GPS, just connect it's PC data cable to the PDC1200 "GPS" connector. Plug your TV camera into the "Video In" connector and the TV transmitter to the "Video Out" connector and you're ready to display GPS data on your TV monitor. While most GPS video-overlay units only offer longitude and latitude display fields, the PDC1200 has seven display fields. At the top, center is the course display in simple letters only format. At the middle left is the speed in knots. At the middle, right is the (GPS) altitude in feet. At the bottom, left is time and date. At the bottom, right is the longitude and latitude, both with a resolution of 1/100th of a minute. The PDC1200 can gen-lock to any standard video input and overlay the GPS data. The PDC1200 is designed to work with NTSC (US) video format.
The PDC1200 and a GPS receiver along with a TV camera and transmitter are all that are required for a complete video overlay GPS data telemetry system. The PDC1200 is designed to be a functional component of a model airplane telemetry system.
