My boom pulled out of heli enough to disengage the tail drive shaft during high altitude piro flipage... I hit the throttle hold and auto'd it down with out even putting a scratch on the helicopter.. Now I think it is time to pin the boom.. has anyone experienced this slipping of the tail boom??

The tail case is already pinned. The boom is slotted in the front so it won't twist and is being clamped down by four bolts. Additionally you have the boom support that is holding the boom in place too. For the boom to move as much as it happen to you, something wasn't tighten down enough. I tried pulling on my boom and its impossible to move it even without the boom support clamp installed.

I agree.. Anything is always possible

All the bolts may not have been tight enough or it just pulled out anyway and it might do it again in time... I am gonna pin the boom just to make sure....
