e-Electric General Discussion > how many amps on BEC do I need for a E620?

I just switched my 10s E620 to 15s A123, and I need to add a rx pack and bec or regulator to this. is a 3 amp enough for digi servo's and jr gyro?

I had 2 medusa 3.5amp bec's on my 10s lipo and it was perfect! but now with 54v, I need a rx pack. I tried a gaui (align clone) 3 amp bec on a 7.2v 2s pack and i get all kinds of twitching and my ail servo's shut down I believe! on lift off the blades started fluttering, and as i landed it tipped over, I checked links and twisted the blades and the servo's were not working. I swithed it off and back on and everything was working again. any thoughts? I hope I exceeded the 3 amps but I ran this gaui combo on my Hurricane 550 for over a year but with lesser digi's ds821's????

Good to 60 volts and they are of good quality, you wont need double.

yes I have seen those, and I may get one, but is it likley that my problem is I am drawing more then 3 amps? or do I have to look for some other problem in my setup?

Im running 3.5amp BEC's on my .90 sized helis for hard 3D with 8717 servos, I dont think its possible to overload a WR on a 620 heli.

But you can always check your setup with a ampmeter to see if there is something strange.

Another thing is to add a Fromeco DC-Up, its a capacitor which holds voltage for several seconds, but also, it can show lowest voltage during a flight.

thanks, this was flying perfectly till I changed out the motor and went to 15s A123, now I have all sorts of problems and getting scared to test it in the air now! it doesn't make sence! could it be possible I am getting that much feedback from the esc??? or static? I am grounded though!

2.4Ghz or FM/PCM?

Higher voltage = higher interference on FM/PCM..

Time to upgrade

I went from a 14MZ to a DX7 just to get rid of that kind of interference, it was a wonder for us HV fliers when 2.4ghz came.

now it's really time to upgrade! I had a Bad night.
I let it spool up on the drive and let it sit at about 1/4 throttle and in about 40 seconds it went dead, like the Rx was turned off. I unpluged the votage regulator from the rx and pluggedit backin and all electronics came back on, i spooled up again and this time it went to full throttle into a chicken dance on the drive! destroyed everything exept the frame!

my only assumption in a bad rx. I fried my medusa Bec on tuesday because the 15s A123 exceeded it's voltage and I am wondering if that also damaged my Rx?? or is it possible the Esc could somehow cause the rx to shut down?
