CRASH

When you ask how many crashes. Is that any where
for a set of blades to a New Kit. ??

Count me in on a set of blades. I found out the hard way helis cannot knife edge at slow speeds

I crashed two times in one afternoon. I had just swapped my woodies for a new set of glass blades in my Raptor and flew for about 20 seconds when I got the woofs. I landed hard and snapped the front skid and bent the spindle.
I went home and returned to the site and repaired the parts. Checked averything else possible on the heli and then started hovering around to make sure everything was O.K. After a couple of minutes I started a gentle circuit when I got the Woofs again and landed quite far away from myself. Just as I touched down, the heli flipped onto it side and thrashed its self to bits destroyong my new blades, tail boom, drive belt, boom supports, tail blades, spindle and tail shaft.
I'm not sure if the cause was due to landing on uneven ground or the tracking going wildly out just I touched down. Anyway, An expensive day for less than one tank of fuel.

Got to fly yesterday after work. I'm still falling out of my piroflips occasionally. Until I really master them, I'm practicing at least 100 feet up. Sorry for your close encounter Payton. Was it the Raven?

Daz & Miataguy,
It was the Raven. I was about 75' and it was my 7th or 8th attempt at it. I cut the manuever in half(piro-flip to inverted, hold, piro-flip to upright, hold, repeat....) and I think I was not warmed up and trying to much to fast this time. I did ALOT of stuff in that first 1/2 tank.

Although, I got to comparing if it was my P-Max that went in instead:

No crashes !!
I've been pretty lucky during April especially since I flew a lot harder
than I usually do learning and practicing new stuff

March was not as good 2 crashes on the same heli, one too low to
recover from a botched flip and the second right after fixing that same heli, missed checking a loose screw on the aileron lever, which may have contributed to the first crash
