I notice that there are lots of folks on here that do not put their actual location in their profile. Some leave it blank, some put something cute in there and others put false info in there. Why not put your real location in there? I think everybody should at least have the state they are in and even better, the city they live it. It is important to have that in there for many reasons. Most are help related and other are not. Here are a few that come to mind ...

Your location can tell us:
- about your climate/geographic info. This is especially handy for nitro guys where weather and altitude play a big role in how their engines run.
- if there is help near by in the form of other pilots or even a local hobby shop.
- if you are in a different country. This helps to explain language, currency and product availability.
(and most importantly)
- where you are if you are selling an item in the classifieds. This is very handy info when determining how long shipping will take, if the item is close enough to pick up in person, the climate the item has been subjected to, and so on. I find that if I find at an item and the seller has not included their location, I usually move on and not consider items from that seller.

Along that same line of thought is the rest of the profile data. I find that many times folks will ask questions without specifying a heli. This leads to few replies or no reply at all. It helps to be able to look at that persons profile to see what helis/equipment they own.

So let me make this simple, if you haven't already, please consider filling in your profile data. Thank you.

- Chris

You haven't tuned too many engines before, have you?

I've flown the same helicopter with the exact same engine and pipe, using the exact same fuel...

at 10 above sea level to 2500 feet above sea level.
In temperatures from 8*F to 108*F
In both the driest and most humid of weather conditions.
From Florida to Mississippi to the Carolinas to Virginia to the New England states such as Connecticut and Maine, to Wisconsin to Washington and Oregon and places in between.

...And you're still only talking about a click or 2 or maybe 3

Actually, "Men In Black" are keeping track of our every move!

Its cool to see where everyone is from. Plays a factor in electric as well. Someone was smart enough to figure out that static problems are more common in areas where the humidity is high among other things.

where are you

I think listing the state is a good idea but I am a little hesitant to put the city I live in because it is to easy for some thief to look in the phone book and find my exact location and rob me.Many people go by a code name but over time it is not to hard to figure out someones real name by just reading post or by buying something from a seller Beware to much info is dangerous to your helis.
Just a thought

Fly it ! Crash it ! Rebuild it ! Repeat as needed !!

who cares.

Since Mutt asked... I do.
I'll bet my Spectra that many other people do too.

Not all of us are in the same country, even the same continent.
I find it interesting to see where people in the forum are from.

for people to get all wound up over a location not being in a persons profile is just juvenile in my opinion. a person can ask a poster if they are trying to help them what country they are in not a big deal. I can see putting a country down even a state if they want to i see no need for town. Whats next you guys are going to want peoples addys and phone numbers in thier profiles? what size pants they wear? lol come on it is not a big deal for some to get wound up over it. Seen a couple threads like this before here and some just get so wound over people not putting location or what heli they fly etc. if someone aks a generi question either ask them for specifics to give them a proper answer or just give them a generic answer. pretty simple if you ask me.

I also like to see ones location. I however, don't care too much about their pants size.
