I have a brand new x-cell gasser with a custom painted canopy. I have a century muffler for it but the problem is that the canopy needs a little bit of trimming to fit with the canopy. I really hate to do this so my question is what is the best way to trim off some of the canopy and make it look nice? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Michael

I Vote for the Dremmel & sanding tool. Neat and wont damage the paint job. (a long as you do not slip with the sander!!!!!!!!!!)

You can use all the scoring methods mentioned here but I think the most important aspect in getting a good looking canopy, is to take your time. I've been cutting canopies for sometime now and the best ones have always been done when I am not distractred and when I take my time cutting.

Put blue painters tape on the area you are going to cut. out line the cut you want to make. You can per-cut with a curved tip body scissors, finish with the Dremel, final finish with a file and sandpaper. When pulling off the tape, Pull towards the cuts so as not to lift your paint job. And like Ray said, Take your time.
