My main tank has fuel in it however my header tank is only half full. Shouldn't the header tank be compleatly full as long as there is fuel in the main tank??

Thanks

Yes the header tank should stay full until the end. I suspect the clunk line in the main tank may have split allowing air to be pushed into the header tank.

Thanks, I checked both the main and header lines...

and they both look good. Anything else I might have missed?

Thanks,

KT

The header tank is doing what it is supposed to do.....When you flip and roll the main tank clunk will pick up air bubbles when it is out of the fuel for a second.... the header tank caught the air bubble before it got to the motor and killed it in flight....This will happen more as the fuel level drops in the main tank.

artimus, you are right. The header tank is there to trap air but I never seen one half fool by the end of the flight.

If the main clunk line is good is likely that its not reaching the top of the tank while inverted (assuming you do spend some time inverted)

I think I've got it figured out guys...

It seems that there was an oversight on my part. I pulled the main tank apart and inspected the clunk installation and components. I failed to be as thorough for the header tank. I pulled it apart and found that the line was off (clunk and line laying in the bottom of the tank). I re-attached it but havnt had a chance to re-fuel yet. I'll work it more later today.

Thanks guys!!!

That is a lot of air in the header tank....We had a guy at the field have the header tank line come off this weekend....but it only showed up when he tried to empty the tank and it would not empty the last half of the header tank .

AHAH !! That solves that then! Glad you found it. I would have suggested changing the line whilst it was unnattached, but I'm a bit late aren't I?
