I have a 50 sxh non hyper and am running the 85 t main and the 10 t pinion does that make my gear ratio 8.5? if i am running 1900 head speed what is my engine rpm and how do you figure that ? what should i be running to get the engine running in its power band and what is the desired rpm of this engine to get it in the power band
600mm mains on 30%

Fly it ! Crash it ! Rebuild it ! Repeat as needed !!

Yes, 85 tooth main gear and 10 tooth pinion give a gear ratio of 8.5:1
With this and your HS of 1900, the motor is running at 16150rpm.
I can't remember what the peak power band is for the non hyper but you're in the right ball park.

The hyper peaks at 17000rpm, so HS = 17000/8.5 = 2000rpm

Gear ratio * head speed = motor rpm

Motor RPM / Gear ration = head speed

Hyper and SXH are the same, hp peak at 17,000
