e-Align T-REX 250-450-500-600 > T-REX 600 In the market for a new frame set- Which one?

Just managed to break the stock CF frames on my trex-600E in a horrifying crash. Oh well, I already stopped crying for a while now.

Now I'm in the market for a new set of frames and I see a few choices out there:

  • 600EP Black CF 2mm: $99.99
  • 600EP FRP 2mm: $39.99
  • 600EP Fiberglass 2mm: $65.99

Any advise and recommendation? I'm on stock motor/ESC and have no intention of going higher than 6s.

Thanks in advance.

Go with the black carbon fiber. More expensive. But looks better and is stronger/lighter.

I have been using the stock GF frames ever since they came out. They have even survived one crash. They might not be the strongest but they look nice and the price is right. I know that CF is one of those status things but GF should not be counted out.

If you think that a yard dart is in the future then go for the cheap ones.

I would get this.

I have seen this frame go down hard. and not break or even bend at all. And the same price as the Carbons. But much stronger.

Yes the shinney ones are great I cut up mine into small pieces. Drilled a hole in each end, stuck a trebble hook in her. Makes a great trout spinner Got some real biguns on them!!!!!

My brother got the bare aluminum and polished them. And my friend got the black ones. They are nice. I have seen both go down hard. and not even change shape.

dieselracer,

These are aluminum, so I'd assume much heavier than the CF one, correct?

I think they are heavyier. But my brother and my friend did not noticed any difference between them in flight.

You can get them at Helidirect.com. You have an option of just the frames or you can buy the 3-D kit with top motor mount and other advancments. These frames are stronger then stock.

You could try one of these:

2mm G10 version:
http://www.readyheli.com/Custom_Hel...chp-g600fut.htm

Or the 2mm CF version:
http://www.readyheli.com/Custom_Hel...chp-0600fut.htm

They look really good with some nifty features. If I was not running these already (CF version) I would give the CF version a go.

Update on the 600EP CF 2mm main frame from helidirect above. I contacted helidirect to find out who made these frames. I was told that RJX makes them. However when I went to RJX site at

RJX Trex-600 parts

I don't see the frames.

These are the links to the Rotorworkz at Heli Direct, They are rite in the upgrade section for the 600. You can also go to www.rotorworkz.com for thier full selection. These are the best frames available because of all the updates included.

I will tell you that I have these frames in a Silver CF and they are thick and strong! I didn't have any problems with them and they're beefy! Much much stronger than the stock Black CF frames or my Rotorworks HFX frames. They're also a good buy. I would do that if you're looking for strength at a fair price.

We haven't seen Colonel Angus around these parts for years!
