HIROBO Freya - Sceadu - Shuttle > Evo 50 washout phasing angle?

I have just changed my blades from NHP600's to Radix 600's and have just been and test flown it, I did some loops some flips both nose up and nose down, and also sideways.

On the loops the heli is rolling to the left slightly when back elevator is applied, so do I want to rotate the washout clockwise or anticlockwise (looking from above the disk)

I have moved it slightly more anticlockwise as this seems the right way to go for rolling out to the left, but I havent got time to test fly it.

I align the phasing by putting the moving swash part so that one of the balls comes exactly in front of the not used 'ball' hole on lower swash part (left side of the heli, HPM / non eCCPM) and that the flybar is oriented longitudal to the heli. Then I check the flybar, its supposed to be in line with the helis chassie and tail boom. So far it has worked out perfect. It loops nice and do rolls witouth any unwanted pitch up or down.

I had that happen when I changed a set of blades as well. I could in fact swap blades between my two sceadu's and reproduce the effect on the other one!

I believe you need to adjust the phasing anti-clockwise when viewed from the top to counter the effect you are experiencing. It won't take a great deal of rotation to correct.

I ended up just using a couple of mixes in my radio as I hate fiddling with those little grub screws that hold the metal phasing block in position.

Cheers, I had thought of using mixes, but I prefer to do things mechanically if I can, good to hear a second "anticlockwise" in this thread

I guess the position of C/G of the blade in the cord line has impact on this. If the blade is 'perfect' the C/G of the blade mak the blade 'hang stight out' from the blade holder. If it dont, due to the C/G or the air forces the blades wont align exactly with the feathering shaft and the blade holders, giving them an small angle compared to the 90 degree needed (doe to the gyroscopic pressesion) between the swash pic up position and the blades.

Thats exactly whats going on, the drag on the blades causes them to lag slightly, and to counter this you have to adjust the phasing, the question was which way would make it better or worse on an evo 50.

Honestly, we live for trimming such as this in AMA/F3C flying, and I would suggest you set the swash timing at 0 degrees and tweak a mixer as needed to get a clean loop. The thing you have to understand is that with a mixer, you can isolate the trim issue to just the loops and fix it accordingly with an ele>ail pmix WITHOUT affecting the roll trim on the model. Swash phasing adjustments always affect both pitch and roll maneuvers, and it's difficult to get the two adjusted exactly right. The other thing already alluded to here is the fact that precise, incremental, and repeatable swash phasing adjustments are difficult. It's easy to confirm 0 degrees of swash timing and then incrementally tweak a mixer until the model loops or rolls cleanly.
