You thought it should have inflated because it took two more milliamp-hours than written on the pack?

Packs I charge often take 5 to 10% more than written on them.

ThunderPower are one of the two good makes of cells.

If you charger is a balance-charger this thread expalins why there is still some current after the charge has ended. (Before the thread turned into a 'charging 2, 3S packs in series' thread).

I now you said the charge had NOT ended but people do miss the end timer. That said your charger is probably different to mine.

many lipos actually achieve higher capacity than the distributor rates them for. I certainly wouldn't be concerned about a couple milliamhours.

But how did you end up discharging it so deeply? You might want to avoid it in the future.

I discharged a 3S TX lipo to the point that the TX told me it was time to charge it...it beeped at me.

When I charged it, it took 1610 mah before I stopped it....it is a 1600mah pack....WTF

Oh well, it still works and is a good pack....go figure.

All TX'es cutoff is for NiMh, never ever run that low so the radio start to warn.

(two reasons, 1 you have nothing left in the pack, if it happen when you fly you might not have enough to land, and 2 you have overdischarge the pack, slowly killing it)

I realized that afterwards. I didnt mean to do it. But regardless of how much it overdischarged it, it shouldnt have taken that much to fill it back up....

desulli a LiPo's capacity also changed slightly with temperature and watch the voltage on the Tx display so you know when to recharge the LiPo - don't wait for it to beep at you!

Min voltage should be 3.0 volts per cell.

Right. 3 volts per cell is 9 volts total. My radio beeps at 9 volts. But it is still lower than I wan to take it down. That was just one of those days that I wasnt paying attention. It wont happen again. Besides, I have a better battery now so I wont be using that one again.

Thanks for all the info though. I appreciate your trying to help out us new-b's.

If 482mah is what he put back in, Just how low did you take it down.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

During the balance charge, the charger is constantly trying to keep all of the cells at the same voltage. If one cell is lower than the rest, the charger can drain the high cell(s) through the balance taps to match the lower cell. Meanwhile, the fuel gauge keeps track of everything sent to the packs through the main leads. In other words, the charger is providing current through the main leads, and the balance taps are draining as required to balance the cells.
