If you plan to stay in the hobby, beyond the 400, then invest in something like the Hyperion Duo, or at least a Triton. Get a good balancer if you go the Triton.

Packs- for the 400 you could use TP Prolites, or the newer Outrage or PerformancePlusRC packs look promising (I plan to try some Outrage packs on my 600), or you could get good packs from HobbyCIty, their Zippy line is pretty good and very fair price, and I've flown the Hextronics G2 or G3 2200mAh packs on my Trex 450 and absolutely love them - great power and holding up very well.

Lots of options for you there.

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

Agree. If you are going to stay in, a good charger is worth it's weight in gold. Thunder powers are good but a little pricey.

I got a bargain at my LHS - Graupner Ultramat 15 charger for £50, as new secondhand. Already had an Overlander (Over Tech) smart lipo balancer and the two work great together.

Tach.
