You can do it, but so much of your attention has to be dedicated to controlling yaw, that I am not sure that you would have much fun. The most minute power setting change will cause the tail to move, as will the wind (causing the machine to weather-vane).
After flying with modern gyros, I am not sure that I would ever even want to try without one. |
