So... I was at Walmart last night, browsing through the R/C toys when this tiny Chinook caught my eye.

Well, after the first few seconds of flight, I was totally hooked! It is more stable, easier to fly and more maneuverable than the original Havoc Heli. It will hover, and has controllable forward speed. It's even got a search light! I had to dim the lights in the family room and go on a search and rescue mission for my cats. Apparently, they didn't want to be rescued. They just wanted to run away. Oh man... talk about sweet! The search light looks so realistic... Too cool!!!

It's been 22 hours since I brought mine home. I can't put it down and I can't get the smile off my face.

Go get one! Go get one NOW!

Nah, they destroyed my Havoc... Ok, maybe I had something to do with the destruction. But, I'm not the one that chewed the blades and body into minced heli!

Twin Thunder

I can see it now. In a couple of months we'll be reading posts from some 14 year old Elite Veteran about how his fleet of Twin Thunders can outfly any of our tired old junk.

Ok...ok... It isn't a $4000.00 blinged Stratus or Aurora... There is no "pucker factor" when flying it, and it can't do 3D... But, chasing cats with an indoor heli is just damn fun!

OF course, the pucker factor goes up a little when you circle your wifes head a few times, and she threatens the toy heli... then proceeds to to threaten the pilot in ways that would make a grown mans knees weak!

Question is... How many more circles could I have gotten away with?

Considering how much better it flies... YES!

It was $59.95 and $5.42 for the AA batteries.

Just like the original, it is an engineering and manufacturing marvel.

Revell (the model company) also makes one in a true military camo color scheme. I saw them at my LHS last weekend for $50. Here's a link describing it.

These things are a freakin blast. My hobby shop made a big order of them and got a demo kit. I was throwing that thing everywere. It was bouncing of part walls, kit boxes, part wall then kit boxes then counter then floor!!lol I would hover it near someone and they would blow at it and it would plummet to the ground. My friends 4 year old kid was flying it having never flown a heli before. Even after all that it was in one piece! Awesome little toy and its cheap!

Hmm, it looks like the Revell and the Air hogs are different.. Look at the pics:

REVELL:

Air Hogs:

And the Revell one has controls for forward, AND backwards. I think the air hogs just goes forwards. The rotors are totally different..

May have to do some looking for the Revell..

Yep... The Revell is a counter rotating design, where the Air Hogs is not. Too bad I didn't see the Revell first. I'm sure it's a better heli, and only costs a few bucks more.

I was at Walmart last night,

What are you waiting for! Box that sucker and take it back to Walmart and find the Revell. That's the beauty of Walmart.
