Hi all...

Sorry for the delay, we had to wait for nice weather and weekend here. Unfortunately never came and had to test and break-in on a small area.

Anyways, just set-up and made initial hovering (up and inverted) on the D3. Quality is really excellent... we didn't encounter any problem on fitting the parts. The design was excellent and we really admire how well the machine was engineered (esp. the tail section). Makes ease of removing the whole tail section without disturbing the set-up and belt tension. Frames were black G10 and there are some plastic parts which we were surprised to (i.e. tail case, some bearing block). Seems they saved on cost, but actually this is good for 3D machine in case you make mistake, replacement costs will be low compared if the machine was built with CF and more metal parts.

The head was really amazing. Lots of adjustments can be made and the parts are precise art. Pitch range was 28deg, you can put +/-14deg on this machine!

We used OS engine 91SZ-H (non-pumped) and Funtech 90 3D pipe. Futaba GY601 + BL251 for tail, Futaba BL253 servos on the 135SWM, and Futaba S9255 for throttle. A 12Z with FASST system radio was used. We omitted the servo for the needle adjustment to save weight. Initially we just used 1500mAh cells as our Lipo + regulator didn't arrived yet.

During initial testing / break-in, we set to 75% AFR but still the heli was responsive. Idle2 (rich settings yet) and 100%AFR (max. swash travel without binding) and wow the heli's super responsive, but really stable. Flipping to inverted was a rush, considering the engine's still running rich. We'll finish the break-in next week and try for some harder 3D.

Sorry we were able to take pix (close-ups, many of it) and video of the initial flight however the memory stick was corrupted. We'll take again many photos and videos next week and post it here.

I can really agree with Dominik H. and Kobayashi-san (Hirobo), as well as the rest of the MRC guys (heliMark, etc.), the Turbulence D3 is the best heli there is for the hardcore 3D flyer Makes me want to sell my old (but reliable Sceadu) and wait for the Turbulence D3 50

This coming weekend we'll bring out the D3 for its first outing. We'll do some mild 3D with it to further break-in the engine. We'll take couple of photos and videos as well and share it here...

Thanks.

Wow!! The Heli looks great! i like the final design of the canopy it's not that bad...

i hate to see a plastic tail casing, it would be nice to have a nice metal rigid casing back there!

Hey Lewd, did you weight the heli?? How much does it weight with a full tank of gas?? Would be nice to know!

Nice work with the pics I’m sure everybody appreciates it!!!
