Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 600N Blades won't track consistently... found the problem.

I have had a hard time getting my blades to track properly since day one. One minute they are in track and the next minute they are out of track.

I replaced the damnpers, then upgraded them to the ones with the sleeve. Still no luck. Lastly I put a new spindle in and replaced the blade grips. The old grips had an "A" stamped into them. The new ones have a "B" stamped on them.

Now my tracking is consistent and much better. The head is much tighter and now I'm happy.

Just an FYI if anyone else is having a tracking issue. Ultimately I think it was the blade grips because the old ones were really loose and the new ones are tight.

It sounds more like a bent spindle to me, and you changed that too.

Spindle wasn't bent... I checked it on a dial indicator. However since I had a new one I changed it anyway.

I could grab the old grips and feel the play in the bearings. I can't do that with the new grips.

WreckRman2,

Can you provide more info:

Another poster has similar issues.

Did you replace the spindle and the problem was still there?

OR

Did you replace the spindle and the grips and the problem was fixed?

I replaced both at the same time... while it was apart for the grips I said why not change the spindle also being I had ordered both. I'm sure I could put the other spindle back in and still have fixed the problem.

Though it could have been a bad grip, i also think it was the feathering spindle.

The easy way to check one to see if it is bent is...........just remove one blade (either one), use a driver to turn the feathering shaft bolt in the empty grip and watch the end of the installed blade. Any tweak at all in the feathering shaft will show up as up and down movement in the blade tip.

Put it back in and see if your problem comes back. You can indicate it all day, but it will still show up when you put it back in the heli.

I don't need to because I know it was the grips... there was alot of play in the molding where the bearings go. I've been around long enough to know what to look for and this is why the grips were the last thing I changed.
