| Yes, the GYRO AXIS always has to be in line with the AXIS OF THE FUNCTION one wants it to control. But how far from the pivot point of that axis one locates the gyro is irrelevant, as it works on degrees of change not distanc of change. So one degree of yaw, is that same if measured 1" from the mainshaft (yaw axis) as it is if measured three feet from the axis.
In this case, the yaw axis is the rotation around the mainshaft, so the gyro can be located anywhere on the heli, as long as its' working axis is parallel to the mainshaft...be it attached to way back on the tail fin or closer, as in up front on the radio tray.
May I ask why you got the PG-3000 instead of something like the Futaba GY240? |
