Are the pushrod lengths specified in the Hawk Pro manual accurate? Nothing seems to work out when I use the values of 100mm for collective, 158mm for ailerons and 135mm for elevator as called for. When I set everything to approx. right angles, things look alot better but then the lengths are no where near what the manual calls out.

""Are the pushrod lengths specified in the Hawk Pro manual accurate?""

no,, they are just estimations because not all Servos (or Servo Brands) place thier Output Spines in the same Dimensions (spot )..

I set them up at right angles and everything worked out great. I test flew this evening and I have to say, I was surprised how well this bucket of plastic flew.

sometimes carbon and metal is just bling i'd rather break cheap plastic over expensive carbon any day.

Marty,

Forget the published pushrod lengths, and follow these setup instructions: http://runryder.net/helicopter/t321886p1/

Manual what manual ?? They may as well send it out with a comic book instead of!

I followed Steves post for set up
Now I don't even measure my rods anymore. I level my swash at mid stick to have equal travel then I just eyeball em so everything is 90 at mid stick and pitch is zero .

Works for me, Perfect tracking from the start

i agree, i just use the lengths indicated in the manual as a base line. but final adjustments are when you are trying to level the swash and set the correct blade pitch, ect.

i may though come in handy to record your actual final measurments for future reference....not that your gonna crash it or something

That's not a bad idea to keep a record of the rod lengths.
It would take longer for me to record them than it does to do the set-up
I have had SO many close calls in the last 2 weeks
