thats on its way to me already from our friends at ready heli. But can I buy a purposely designed head (prefered) for the 700 other than the Bonta or just convert my own?

AFAIK there is no Mikado head for 12mm main shafts.

You can do it without any fancy head!

The Bonta head really requires the mainshaft being cut down and a new hole drilled for the head jesus bolt. Not any easy task for most.

All that is required is a 12mm follower and a longer ball link to the blade grips. Ideally the balls should be central to the mast.

Vario do a 12mm follower, or you can adapt your own!

Thanks for the input Snapshot but don't forget that ideally the collective common on the V-bar should be above 60 percent so you would need the balls from grip to centre of hub moving out to get the right setup (about 33 mm). I expect that an aftermarket mod where a bracket will attach to the grip will be available at some point and save you huge $.

The other way of doing it would be to use the upper mixing arms to keep the ratio down thus not requiring any mods to the main grip. If you look at Kasama website you see this option in the pictures.

The advantage of a bespoke Hub/Head is you get to move the head down thus changing your CG more in line with the boom and no holes where the flybar was. Not a problem with this head but some have suffered fatigue cracks due to the increased forces and lack of structural support when the flybar has been removed.

Final benefit is harder dampening due to 6 in total O rings and lack of teeter (axle sleeve). Generally the more rigid the system the more tuned up the flybarless will be.

CURTIS USES A SOLID HEAD ON THE VIBE 90

No dampers at all. I would guess that this maximises the potencial of the gyros and prevents over use of the servos, and greater gain.

Thats it guys I talk with Tyler and we are going to make a production run of heads, if we make a large run we can lower the price. we just purchased another machine and should be here end of the week. We will have target price once Kasama delivers thiers

Thanks for all the good things you have said about this head, but I would like to add that Matt Botos had alot to do with the clean look of this head, as well as all the testing last year(it's been tested for a long time). He really knows is $hit.

Also I am very happy to see the head on a 700, I think everyone should be able to go FBL.

Im going to get started, check back with me in 2-3weeks and we will be shipping the hottness.

That is great news. I emailed Carl to say thanks for the head and that fellow modellers were interested in his product and I guess he was listening. This hobby has its rewards and great companies like HyperformanceRC and Mikado only make it better
