e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Question on Recharging receiver packs.

For obvious reason the receiver packs never get fully discharge during regular use.
How often should you cycle you're receiver pack?
Or should you discharge them down to 1.1 volts before charging.

I've been to some of the technical battery site and my brain is about to explode, looking for the plain and simple version.

Thanks

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

That was quick.
I think mine is a FUTM1285 - FUTABA NR4F1500 BATTERY 4.8VDC, but I was asking about flight pack in general.

You can cycle them if you wish, that is discharging to 1.1v and re charging, But I have found this largely uneccessary. I usually charge them as normal go fly and re charge them as required at the end of the day.
Perhaps once a month I think about a full cycle and run my pack through a full charge re charge cycle. I then check the capacity of the battery and carry on using it until I need to replace them.

I have been using nicads and nimh packs like this for years and haven't really come across any real problems.

Good luck

Thanks Busher that's what I've been doing. Just wanted a little assurance that it was doing things right, and perhaps some other Ideas on the matter.

Heli 770 - Why did you ask for my battery info if you're not going to use it. I guess you missed the part where I said,

Batteryuniversity was one of them. But it's all good maybe when my brain stops throbbing I'll take a look at the other.

Busher posted before I could get back to you. And I was satisfied with his answer and had nothing to add.
