I'm going to try the 10 tooth pinion with my Webra 75 AAR to give me
8.4:1 - will this slot right in or will I need to machine a tad off
the engine block to get the correct alignment?

Thanks,
David.

Thanks, and I guess I'd run into problems if I tried 88:10 too

I don't think so !!! It's not the main but the pinion to the motor with is the issue !!!!

How do you figure that? Surely increasing the number of teeth in either gear increases the diameter and hence closes the gap tolerance between the two. Or perhaps adding 4 teeth to the main gear doesn't increase the diameter of that gear much at all (4/84 vs 1/9)?

Cheers,
David.

Hi!

8,4:1 is easy to manage by changing the 9T to 10T pinion. Will fit without changing. But for the P75 AAR I would suggest to go to 8,8:1 cause this engine likes to turn!! But to fit the 88 main gear with the 10T pinion you will have to sand down the engine mount or work on the main frames!!

Thanks Fossy. I'm running the standard ratio ATM without any real trouble, just its a bit revvy/noisy and rather intimidating! I'll see what the 8.4:1 does, then might try the 8.8:1, but as you say it requires an amount of work on the engine block but a mate does have a milling machine
