Hi,

I thinking of buying AXI 5345/14 4000w of power 5 plus horse power for my 800 size electric heli with castle creation and two 5,000mah 6 cell in series. What do you think of this setup??

I don't know that motor, but I think you need a fan of some sort on any heli.
Also that 4 KW rating is for 15 seconds, Just watch the heat.

Not a chance,

the AXIs run hot and I would never trust one in a 800 series ship.

I would only run the plettenberg or Actros in that size ship, the only really tried and tested motors for 800 class ships IMO

I agree with Tabb. The other alternative is the 4035 series Scorpion motor which I have seen pull over 4000watts on a 600 size 3d machine. It has fantastic power at a very good price.

Fergus,

I agree the scorpions look good as well but are rather young at this point compared to the actro and pletty.

Not saying the quality is not good but for my own personal AP use I would let some time and testing by others pass until I tried one.

I am with you though, it gets a bit old paying 400 USD per motor on average!

Ive been flying the 4035 in 700mm heli with hard 3D since they first was released in Hong Kong, no issues what so ever except they run a little hot in my application (pushing upwards 4800watt)

Simply no point buying a $400 motor anymore ever since scorpion's arrvied.

If you want to "upgrade" it, I would buy bearings from Boca, thats about only thing that will fail sooner or later on them.
