I am trying to charge a 50000 mAh lipo at 1C (5A)When I dial this rate into my charger, it will olney charge at 2.2A. It is taking me approx 2-2.5 hrs to charge each pack. I bought these packs used, do I have a pack problem? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Oh, and the charger is rated to charge at 6A and capable of charging up to 6 cells. I am charging a 6 Cell 50000mAh 22.2V pack.

I don't know which charger you have as you don't state the make and model, but may I be bold enough to throw in a few pointers as to what the problem is.
I presume you are trying to charge a 5000mah 6s1p lipo battery at 1c, and not a 50000mah 6s1p as you have written in the above posts.
If so the charger may only be rated at 50watts maximum output.
This lines up nicely with the 2.2amps maximum it is allowing you to charge at.

from: watts = volts X amps

you have = 22.2v x 5A

= 111 watts
Charger may only be rated at 50 watts so:-

50 / 22.2 = 2.25 amps,

As you are getting a maximum of 2.25 amps charge rate as set by you r charger software I would conclude that the charger has a maximum output charge rate of 50 watts maximum.

If this proves to be correct and you can verify it by looking at the charger specifications in the instructions, then the only course of action you can take is to replace the charger with a different model with a higher output rate.

Whilst most chargers boast a good ampere output you should always look at the rated output in watts to see whether you can still have the full current stated at the largest cell count you want to charge.

Yes, I ment 5000mAh. I dont know why I made the same typo twice! The manual didnt say anything about that. Ill have to look at the model so i can post which one it is when i get home. But it is charging around 2.2A so it sounds like your calculations are correct. Thanks for taking the time to post that!

the charger is one shortcoming, the power supply can be another. I have a 5Ah pack and 6Ah pack that I can't charge over 4A due to the power supply itself.

If you're worried about your power supply for you charger, just use the car battery with the engine running, no accessories on. No end of juice that way and you can see what the charger wants to put out. I use Robbe chargers, but I have heard nothing but good reports on the hyperion chargers. If i were to get one I would probably get a duo, 180 watts per channel and both can be used at the same time.
Good for 8 amps into your packs thats 1.5c at 5000mah.
The single hyperion net charger will give 250watts thats 2c charging and will have your packs charged in 35 mins or so.

I am currently using the robbe fun charger, 130 watts and this gives good times on my 6s 2500, i can get 2c into them without much stress, So it would also do a 5000mah at 1c, I only use this charger because I had one lying about if I were to buy a new one I would get a different one with a greater output and probably more cells.
