Anyone know if there are there any options besides the pricey glass canopies?
I'm really liking my 500,but I think I need something just a touch more rugged

Yeah,I was looking at your thread yesterday.Great Idea.
When I got my 500 a short while ago,I wasn't sure about the canopy,but after flying it for awhile,I've grown to like the shape.Especially the wraparound rear piece.
No plastic options?I've seen older Logo's with plastic rigs on then.

You might be able to hack up a raptor or hirobo canopy to fit, but I haven't tried them personally. The e-smart canopy is a good beater for daily practice and the price is right.

Yes...

The logo 500 and 600 canopies are interchangeable...you will just have to move the front mount for the landing gear depending on what canopy you fly...

If you fly a logo 600 canopy the front strut goes all the way to the front of the frame..

Cool! Arizona Heli has a nice painted Logo 600 canopy I can buy for my 500 then!

I love the Logo canopies, they look great with some nice paint on em Bart!
Ace Helis here on RR does a wicked job and for decent pricing to man, check the gallery for some examples of his work.

a month ago, i was able to buy a "scratched and dented", but new, stock fg 600 canopy for $25+shipping from aero-model. the damage was minor, superficial and could easily be fixed. it had a small crack on the outer gel-coat. not sure about aero-model's standing with mikado today, but you might want to email them to see if they have any left.
