I have not been able to find the spec`s on this . I know it`s a 6 amp unit but what is the voltage output.
I want to run This with the Spektrum 7100R receiver, it must have at lest 6 volts to operate, but I want to run my 9252 servos, which are 4.8 servos but is usually OK at a regulated 6.0 volts
any help is appreciated.

But the receiver is rated at 6 volts minimum to power the built-in regulator for the gyro channels. Might have to go with different regulator. and I was hoping for that built-in glow drive.

hi

you need a STEP DOWN for the gyro.. the rest is taken care of..

5.8V on servos wont hurt it as long as you use step down on gyro/servo.. otherwise invest in a Reactor X.

The 7100R has regulated and unregulated connections, plug into an un regulated port, and why do you want the Align 2 and 1 with a 7100R, I hope not for the glow starter????

I'm intrigued as well why you want a 2 in 1 and to use the regulator in the rx, doesn't make any sense. Don't use the 2 in 1 and just use the rx regulator.

OK , First issue, the receiver must have at lest 6 volts, voltage range 6-10 volts. it has its own regulator for the gyro, but only the gyro channels are regulated. I understand that. Now the 9252 servos are not rated for 6 volts (a fully charged 6 volt battery will read about 6.8 volts. thats too much for a 9252 servo) . A regulated 6 volts (not to exceed 6.0 volts) will work safely on 9252.

The 2 in 1 regulators output of 5.8 volts is just not quite enough to safely power the 7100r receiver.

It seems to me that I just need a 6 volt regulator between the 7.4 volt lipo pack and the receiver, and all will be within its range.

The glow drive would have been just a perk since I have to have a regulator anyway.

The design for the AR7100 was based on the JR 8717 servos that run on 8.0v. A two cell lipo for the RX pack powers the servos directly and the RX has a 6.0v step down converter.

The only thing I dont like about the set up is the voltage to the servos won't be cosistant, it varies from 8.4v to 6.4v, and for those of us who are anal retentive, a consitant voltage to the servos is a must.

The other thing is that you are stuck using a two cell pack, I have a bunch of 3S 2100mAh from my 450s, I get 8-9 flights with them on the nitros.

I know that more electronics leaves more room for incedent and the AR 7100 does simplify things.

The Castle BEC is very small, and about $25. You program it with the castle link from you PC or laptop, you can pick any voltage from 4.8v to 9.0v

The only voltage regulator on the AR7100 is on the rudder, throttle, aux2, and gear, and it regulates to 5.2v. You can use an Align 2 in 1 with it, the 5.8v output works just fine with the AR7100, I tried it before deciding to go with a simpler setup in my Vibe.

BTW Idid check the manual it was a little un clear.
It said not to use a 4.8 set up because of the internal reg. but the receiver would still operate down to 3.5 volts like the rest of them.
but it did not say if it would work as any other 4.8 receiver just not regulating the gyro & throttle etc channels.
Would the internal reg cause a problem at 4.8 volts?
BTW I use a 401 gyro.

I would love for a Spektrum rep to chime in here and help clear this up.
I really want to use this receiver, but I would like to use my servos and not have to spend another $400 or more on the 8717 servos.

I never flew with it, just set it all up on the bench before deciding that I was just going to run an A123 pack and get rid of a lot of extra wiring. It all worked fine, and the 5.8v output has plenty of headroom for the regulator to drop it down to 5.2v for the gyro.
