Do i need to get a special adaptor to connect the balance connector on a thunderpower battery to the flightpower balancer?

Thunder power has a PolyQuest connector the same as the FlightPower Cells.
Assuming you have the standard 2/3/6S balance harness that came with the V Balancer, then no, you do not need a special adaptor, just use the smaller of the 2 connectors on the harness.

EDIT
For some reason I assumed you were refering to a 3S Lipo

My balancer came with a bunch of adapters inclusing this one
