You mean tough breaks right? I'm sure that dood broke many bones.

I thought the smash into the sand was bad enough but then the wind caught him and he just rocketed off.

I actually felt a bit of pain when he smashed into the sand too.

If that is a paracommander he could have pulled arms length down on either side to pretty much take all the wind out of the sails, so to speak, even in a hurricane.

he is attached to it with a harness...thus my comment of a quick release of sorts.

then theres water skiers...no harness and they still have a hard time letting go before drowning.

Tony - you are harnessed in man.

He was probably too skeeeered to hit the quick release

^^so it does have a quick release...makes sense to have one.^^

unfortunately a momentary lapse of reasoning for such event cost him dearly.

the guy was trying to kite surf during a tropical storm..... it's not like the storm appeared in seconds... that means that his lapse of reasoning was likely more than a momentary hiccup...

Kinda hard to reach down and pull that release in the middle of that ride :-)

Thank you Mr. Darwin.

edit:

looks like there wasn't really much that guy could've done on the second vid, but the first one... I mean, who does that in a tropical storm?
