Dubro makes some threaded collars to solder onto pushrods. I wonder if the solder would be strong enough to hold the flybar paddle? You could solder these to each end of the flybar and thread the paddles onto them.

Take a look at these. Not sure if the threaded portion is big enough????

Just got my Hacker C40-8L in with 40-3P controller. Soldered it up and ready to install. Should be up this weekend with it. I think I am going to go with the 16 tooth pinion and about a 1600 head speed. Does this sound good?

hi Pete ,
are you running 8 or 10 cells? if your running ten cells start with the 14 tooth, the hacker 8L kv is about 3750 that sucker is going to be singing if your using 10cells...you should be fine with the 16t with 8 cells

Is your ESC a jedi/hacker? I started with one of the hacker/jedi controllers and I could not get through a battery pac w/o it cutting out.

you might also want to consider a seperate BEC for extra insurance
like the UBEC sold @
http://www.koolflightsystems.com/

also make sure you cut EXTRA venting holes in your canopy to keep you ESC COOL

let me know how you make out

thanks

My Eolo was running 1990 rpms yesterday. I went to the 17 tooth pinion to get there.I'm using a pheonix-45 set @85 straight across t/c on idle up one and 90 on idle up two. It seemed a little too pitch sensitive in two.Very racey though.I'm still running 8 cells-2400nicad.The bird is just fun but I still want it too be much more nimble.I love going out to fly this little one.The neighbors don't possibly know that I'm having so much fun.I've maxed out the collective and cyclic afr's already, but still no flipping.

hey tim,
I got my eolo flippin and tumbling, I suggest you get MS CF symetrical blades and crank up your head speed to 2000 range and she will come to life don't use the woodies over 2000!!!! ...also try 10 cell cp1700 pac
I am starting a EOLO web store and I have tuning upgrades coming ,ie : alum, fly bar attachments,3d paddles, and blades, CF landing gear, metal swash and head, 3d bell hiller mixers with a different ratio, and much more.stay tuned!!

I am running 8 Cell 2400 nicd batteries. So the 16t should work out, I have the MS CF blades also. I did get the Jedi/Hacker 40-3P controller, I'll see how it goes. I plan on running the throttle curve in idle 1 at about 80% straight lined and at 90% in idle 2.

Jeremy,I never flew this heli without the ms/395 blades or with the stock motor either. This guy needs wider paddles bad. The problem I hope you can help overcome is probably what the Robbe engineers worked hardest to get, very positive and solid feeling.I'm looking for 3-d. The paddels only weigh 6 grams. But they are so small.I may need more motor and I'm used to that need.Only last year when I got my firstY-S 80 did I for a little while think I had finally gotten enough power. When I raced go-karts I ended up in shifters, when I went drag racing I worked on top fuel car, ect. Now this hobby has 3-d helicopter fun. I do look foward to lipos.Maybe a Plettenberg ?

yo Tim, Plattenburg? ererererrrrr i here they are the best, do you know which one will work in the EOLO? let me know which model you think might work..
check out these tuning parts

I am in the process of importing these items and I should have them in a few weeks, these alum flybar attachments should help take alot of weight off the fly bar, the paddles are the stock paddles that have been cnc machine out .. these eolos are going roc dude! just like your 80

I have much more tuning parts in the works check out these pics

hey guys I went back to the standard lenth flybar and I took the steel fly bar ends and ground them down on my grinder so they weighed only 2 grams each, then I took the paddles and cut out the center as shown in this pic, and got them down to 2.5 grams , then I used trim tape to cover them.

WOW big difference I would say my roll rate is now about one roll per 1.5 sec which is fairly respectable compaired to about 1 roll per 2.5 -3sec. before... and other ideas to increase cyclic???????

anyone make a metal swash that has a bigger inner race to give the eolo more mechanical throw???? I'm max out and binding now.

I saw a post on ezonemag that a guy put an ECO 8 aluminum swashplate on the Eolo. He drilled and tapped it to put the rotational ball link into it.

I finally got some stunts out of my Eolo! I just expected a lot too soon. The trick was to just wait and let it do it at it's act . I also did some inverted climbs. All the stunts have to be done in the first three minuets or too much head speed is lost. This guy is going to make all my other flying better I'm sure. This flying today is in nearly 90 f temp.My next step is to lighten the flybar paddle mounts. The blade noise is intoxicating, just a slight gear whine and lots of soft popping air.I did fly my SE-80 ,but only one flight today.Come on Charlie three weeks or more seems so long to wait for lipo time extenders. eolo on lipo

hey all

Just got my lipo batteries in and wow...... I flew in front of my house for 23 minutes with plenty of power left...

I started to have so much fun the eolo was ripping over the neighbors houses.... too much fun until i crashed in a 20ft palm tree in front of my house..........

Luckily minimal damage just the main gear.......

This electric stuff is great especially with the lipo....

Here's the post I was talking about.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...eolo+swashplate

I am much happier with the Hacker motor on this thing. I do have a vibration problem coming from the tail that I am trying to track down. Soon as I get that sorted out I think it will fly nicely. I guess I am going to be stuck going to the Li-Po's also.

I checked out some of the threaded couplers I had suggested before for a possible flybar paddle mount. The one's I could find won't work out. The threaded end is much too small.
