I tested this weekend a flightenergy lipo thunder pac 3s4p

I got 23min flight

setup was
Kontronik Twist 3700
Kontronic Beat ESC
kool flight bec
14tooth
1980 hs
lipo 3s4p bat


Anyone try different paddles w/o the fly bar weight/attachment ???

I'm jealous! The best I've gotten is5:30 with 8 cell 2400 robbe pack.I'm using hacker c-40 10 t ,pheonix -45 sec with 15 tooth@1810 h/s.The biggest let down is the level of pep drops to a second level@two minuets in.The problem I see with th paddels is the weight is the mount.

I am using the orbit microloader
Charlie at flight energy says that right now he does not think we will need to do cell balencing, it's really to early to tell he will be testing some pacs after 100 cycles

I just got my second flight out of the pac 26 mins

Sounds great for 23mins flight. How long does it take to charge the Li pack? I wonder is my Schulze 330d charger can be used to charge the Lipo battery?

the orbit seems to chargeit in about 2-3 hours,
I have no Idea if your shultz does lith-ion
I just got a 26min flight!!

update 4/29

I just got 18min 40 sec flight of spirted 3d flying, that not bad considering on my 10 cell 1700mha nicad only gives me 4min 30sec
with this set up ..

the twist 3700 held the hs very well through tumbles and stuff, I need to get the roll rate up to get it to piro flip better, I need a longer flybar, or bigger paddles or somthing.

if you guys are looking for duration go to a 3000-3300 kv and I bet the lipo will go 30mins. or more for sport flying

You can make the flybar out of tailrotor drive wire any length you want to.Just use your dremel to make the small dent for the set screws.I still haven't gotten a reply from Charlie about my batteries yet.I'm also all done with a e-hawk that needs batteries. Good reporting but we are still wanting more.Tim

Mckoi, how did you get you decals to lay down all nice? I tried to apply the body decals, but the decals are flat, and the body is round. I started cursing pretty early on, and it just got worse! Nice pics.

decals went on w/o any issues, I did cut the blue from the red so I was not laying down such a large piece.

you could also use water to make the sticker slide around for better placement

I dreaded this stage myself. I cut the decal with the windows left on , misted with water then as it went on I cut off the edge around the window. It came out much better than I thought.Now If only I could get it to do any tricks.

longer fly bar

hey guys I tried a 13" fly bar this weekend and it did speed roll and cyclic rate, but not a huge amount. and it did seem to be a little more boggy...my guess it that we need to figure out a way to eliminate the paddle attachment weights...any one got any ideas?
