Thanks, Rick; I had forgotten about those Kavan pumps.

You're right, they would work on a fire truck. Several acquaintances have had them. But as I recall (and the photo supports this), one wouldn't fit too well on my particular arrangement.

I'm about at the point of buying another el cheapo and hoping for the best. Why is it that these minor decisions are such a PITA???

Thanks again for all the support.

I found this pump in the JetCat USA page, I understand it is very fast and does not leak. I had hobbico pumps, they leaked.

Air Pressure fuel pump?

Has anyone every heard of a method of pressurizing your fuel jug with just a "couple" of psi and then use a valve to discharge the fuel to your heli. The old water rocket pricipal, just scaled down.
Hmmmm.... seems like a fool proof way of filling your heli. When the tank is full, close the valve & release any left over pressure built up in the jug with a relief valve. Does anyone know if a device like this exsists. Maybe a regulated CO2 system using one of those bicycle tire inflators,Or a small bicycle hand pump or somthing like a Keg pump, I know you are all familar with this! I imagine it wouldn't take too much air pressure to fill a tank.

no batteries, no leaks, no pumps to wear out!
Just a thought?

Bberg, I used a pump like that a long, long time ago in a Galexy far, far away...it had a squeeze bulb from a Blood Pressure cuff that you pumped and pressured the fuel bottle, release the pressure with the thumb screw when the tank was full...it worked great! De-fueling was a matter of running the gas out... Chris

To all of you who no doubt have been waiting with bated breath, I got another $14 H9 cheapie. Been several months now, and it is still working (and not leaking).

But I left the alligator clips on this one; if it pukes , BOTH of them are going back.

Ron, you and Chris should post photos of those neato stainless flight boxes; major cool...

Steve, thanks for the compliment on the field boxes, I put some pics of mine in my gallery.
PS, did you decide to snatch up a Robbe SE, now that it seems they are going to keep making them?
You guys come up some weekend soon as you can.

<<...now that it seems they are going to keep making them?>>

Oh, is it back to that??? That's right; we've started a new week...

Like I said in an earlier post, if they're still around at a reasonable price when I get this surgery/doctor bill paid off, I'll get one. Hopefully, by the time I get that sucker paid down Robbe will have finally made up their mind. But if they do keep making it and go back to a grand or more, they can keep them.

I'm just using a manual Hanger 9 geared fuel pump now.. I used Washer pumps before, and they don't last long. Used other fuel pumps with the same results years back. Now I'm just sticking with manual pumps

I did hear good things about Slimline's Boxer pump though. A bit on the pricey side.. but is supposed to be built like a rock.
