I have an older fromeco non-arizona regulator. It has 4 pairs of leads coming out, one pair is the pin switch. One the has a female connector and the other 2 have the male connectors. I assume the female is for the battery. I am using a 7.4 li ion battery. I have 5.9 regulated volts on one set of the male connector and 8.2v on the other. How can I adjust the 8.2 volts to 5.0v for the gyro? I tried shorting the 2 pins and that regulates one connector but not the other. Also when I put the pin switch in it shuts the 5.9v connector off but not the 8.2v connector. Here is a picture of what I have.

just found out this is the Fromeco regulator and reliaswitch

It's one thing to know where the instructions are. It's another thing to read them. The instructions will answer all your questions.

Well, for starters, you can't do want you want to do anyway. That regulator only has one adjustable output. It just has multiple output leads, both of which will have the same adjustable output voltage.

I understand that, but why does one read 5.9v and the other 8.2v??

Another reason to read the instructions.... That lead goes directly to the battery for checking/charging.

it only has one regulated connector and the adjustable range is 5.5 to 7.2volts. How can I get 5v to the gyro? and 6 volts to the rest if the servos with one regulated connector?

Never having used the Fromeco regulator, I belive there is only one output lead, which goes to the receiver and is regulated to your choosing.
To regulate the gyro you would then need an additional regulator for that channel as well or buy the newer Fromeco regulator which seems to do what you want.
It seems that you CANNOT have two regulated outputs from that older Fromeco regulator. As ACEDUDE has stated the other lead is just a charge/check lead connected directly to the battery.

I had to chime in as it was killing me to read this.
I hope this helps jetfixrguy.

LOL thank you both! after doing alot of reading, this is the regulator that only regulates one output like you said. I have just decided to run the rx at 5.5v and use a step down between the rudder servo and gyro to 5.1v Thanks for your help guys.

Check the specs for your gyro and tail servo from the manufacturer. A 4 cell NiXX pack will come off the charger at over 5.5v so there's a good chance you might not need the step down for the tail. Again check the specs, but I'd suspect the gyro/tail servo can handle 5.5v w/o the step down, but don't take my word for it.

I am using a 7.4v li ion pack so I just adjusted the voltage to a constant 5.5 and used a step down to the tail servo.

They're nice regulators: compact, simple & light. Only a single adjustable output, although I use them with 3 output leads (JR) and a Deans input, so that the regulator handles over 6A. If you set the regulator at 6V, and use a step-down diode to the gyro (giving the gyro approx 5.3V), you'll be home laughing.

Remember to unplug them if you're not flying for a few days, as their drain current is significant over a longer period of time.

I'm sure there are better regulators available now, but they work just fine.
