Flightpower EVO25 5S and TP 210 Balancer

the batt plugs directly into balancer but balancer doesn't light up and charger doesn't see the balancer. Are the FP batts wired differently? How do I get the balancer to work with this battery?

I'm don't have that battery but from what I understand, it's supposed to work. Does it by chance have two balancing taps it so make sure you're plugging in the B-group tap first otherwise the 210 won't initialize properly.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

If the FP packs have same config as TP packs, it should have a single 6pin connector for a balancer. This should be plugged into the side with two identical connectors (side opposite the data port).

It should be plugged into the left connector. In few seconds, 5 leds should light up to let you know a 5 cell pack is connected.

Make sure you are using the correct socket on the 210. I think it's marked 4-5s. It should work fine

Edit: beaten to it. Red should you not be on the way to IRCHA by now!

HELP!

yup, it's plugged into the 4-5S socket. No lights, beeps, nothing. When I plug in a 2S pack it beeps and lights up. Here's the problem:

1) the packs charge and balance on a 610C
2) I tried a friends 210 balancer which we bought together at the same time, his doesn't work either! What's up with this?!

Take a multimeter and check.

Put negative lead on the black balance cable, every red should be different voltage (one raising for each one, the further away from negative you get).


Could be a broken balance cable

I spoke to TP and they told me to send them back. Before I do I thought I'd post what I've experienced and what I'm sending them. I think the 4~5S side is gone, but on TWO balancers?!


Two identical balancers (and 1010c chargers) purchased June 12th and June 30th from Great Hobbies

Using a TP 1010C charger:

-when I plug in the pack, no beeps, no lights, nothing
-both balancers will not balance a 5S Flightpower 3700ma pack. The pack has Thunderpower balancer connectors on it.
-both balancers will balance 2 and 3S packs just fine
-I've tried more than one FP 5S pack, same problem

***using a TP 610C charger, I *can* charge & balance my 5S Flightpower 3700ma pack perfectly, so I know it's not the pack that's at fault
