Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Pinning dog bones.

Ran up my Hawk for the frist time after a pretty bad crash today. Didnt get far, had a bad vibration low spool to just under liftoff. I didnt bother to take it farther.
I suspect the torque tube drive because it had an ever so slight kink in it. Its stainless so I thought I at least give it a try.

My Hawk has the double dog bone set up. The replacement drive has only one DB and its not even pinned. I need to pin the other end on and would like to pin both ends.

So what are you guys using and how?

Signed,
Grounded......

I bought a set of different sized steel roll pins from ACE hardware. I used the smallest diameter size and CA'ed it into the dog bone.

No really a MOD. Look at the manual for a Raven. That tail drive uses double dog bone. If you order the SS Torque tube for a RAVEN 30, it has DBones on both ends. Id do that, but I have the Aluminum TT for a hawk and all I need to do is pin the other dog bone on...

Tail part #
Tail gearbox input HW3070A
Torque Drive coupler HI3154
AND the SS torque tube for a RAVEN 30, not 50 size
or
You could switchover to a 50 size boom, push rod and supports and just order RAVEN 50 parts from then on out.

if you removed the dog bone coupling that shaft should fit the
stock TT

all I had was a hand drill so I drilled 2 holes opposite each other
and with ca I used 2 small screws from my 450sa kit

Idealy I would use a drill press and some coat hanger with JB weld

Per HW, I was told to ues green locktite and press a pin in, they do sell the pins but can not say what the correct hole size is...The pin measures, .078".
Thinking about my options, I'm going to Braze the end on first, get a pin from the Hardware store or Mcmaster, ones that I know the right hole size for and I can get easy. I have a mill so the drilling should be pretty easy.
I just thought there might be an easier way........

OR since the next skill on my list to learn is Autos, I might just tone down the Jr7703D gyro and switch back to the wire drive tail. In fact I bet that might save me a good chunk of money.
Great........time to split the frame again.
