Hi everyone

Recently i purchased an Eagle Tree flight logger. I also got a temp sensor and the brushless motor rpm sensor.

I could use some help on how to use brushless motor rpm sensor. I can't understand how to set it up on the heli.

Any help will be welcome

Attach one wire to one motor lead and the other to one of the other motor leads. You really only need one wire connected to one motor lead, but I have always connected both. I use a male and female servo connectors and solder one to two of the motor leads so it can be unplugged. You can put the wire on the male bullet and push it into the female, but the wire is small gauge and might break with not too much movement.
Set the gear ration in the logger for what your running and the rest is history, very accurate.

Hmmm...

If i got it right, i am supposed to put it between the leads of motor and esc.

I have only one motor in the heli

so i will need to connect only one wire. What i didn't get is this about the servo connectors.

A photo will help, if you have any

Pretty simple. There's three wires from your motor to speedcontrol.
Connect the two wires from the sensor to two of the wires from the motor. Doesn't matter which two.

I soldered small straight pins on my sensor leads and use those to tap the motor wires. That way I can move it between models easily, once my setup/testing is done. I used liquid electrical tape to seal the pins to prevent potential shorts. I have only had it on one model so far, and that did require I tap two wires, not just the one.

Most motors use bullet plugs to connect to the esc. If you remove about 1cm or less of heatshrink from the motor rpm sensor wire leaving the exposed strands you can make the connection without any difficulty through the bullet plug.

Unplug one lead of your motor from the esc. Then place the unshielded wire into the male plug and then just rejoin the motor and esc plugs. The female plug will hold the rpm sensor wire in place. I have done this on several helis and have not damaged the rpm sensor wire. It is also very secure and does not require exposing the esc or motor wires. You will find the thin wire on the rpm sensor will just bend between the plugs and does not kink or become frayed.

You only need the number 1 wire unless you are flying this:
