| Thanks' guys, since I posted I did what hovernut said and took it apart and I found out that the rubbers were too packed with grease and they did not fit entirely in the head. When I tightened it up, it (I presume) loaded the bearing too much. Aerowizzard, the bearings in the grip are well seated. Now, I took some of the grease out, refitted the rubbers and all and the side that I build first is smooth (it almost fall by its own weight) and the side that is built up on the head is still stiff (not as much as before). Like jadams said, that outer bearing washer it a tight fit on the shaft but mine fit well only if I push it evenly on the shaft. So, when I fit that last grip, there is no play on the shaft to allow me to push that washer on the shaft, so it is relying on the bolt and 4mm washer to push it on... so I think that washer is not proper on the shaft and I end up prying the thrust washer in the grip... does this make any sense? Tony, now that the grease is out, I don’t feel the bearings anymore, just stiffness, but I think you are write with the thrust bearing seating. Any way, it is too late now, will look at it tomorrow. Thank you... |
