Audacity Models Pantera 50 - Tiger 50 > Antirotation pin on Swashplate

Do we need the antirotation on the swash? You can't buy a metal swash from John at any price and I'd like to get a better swash on my Tiger as it has quite a bit of slop. I do have a gorgeous Trex 600 swash in hand that would probably fit the bill if I didnt need antiroation since the one leg of the swash and the antirotation are on the same post. The Knight 3D in contrast doesnt even have antirotation.

I added one to a different heli once with a small tap and a metric bolt. 2mm I think. I sleaved it with some brass tubing to make the o.d. larger and it worked like a champ. Same situation-Couldn't get the cnc one made for the heli so I improvised! I also use a little JB weld in the thread because I didn't go in real deep with the threads. Sold the heli to a buddy and as far as I know it has survived many crashes. My Panteras haven't developed enough slop to worry about yet IMO-but if they do and John doesn't have any in stock yet than I will be using someone elses.

I meant to do that!!!

Yeah, I can do all that and considered it from the start. What I want to know though, is if it is really necessary? The Knight 50 3D doesnt have it and it's generally flown balls to the wall.

If the front elevator link was ball to ball, obviously no way. Pantera has the front lever that has three points, ball on the swash to either side of the frame where the arm pivots. Clearly this will keep the swash from rotating. The questions is then if you will have too much slop or lose some feeling in the air. Time to be the first, Marty. My guess is it will minimal, if perceived at all.

Let us know how it goes, and keep the video running.

Thats my guess too and I'd rather not mod the Trex swash but I will if I have to. I guess I need to put it on just to see if the basic ft and geometry and ttavel will work then go from there. I have to say, these Trex components have a very clean and professional finish. I have no idea about precision or the gemetry but Wow do they look good.

As I understand it, the RJX swash is a drop on replacement, and it's a VERY nice unit.

Thanks Eury, it looks good. I just ordered one for the RJX Extreme from http://www.rjxofusa.com for $62 delivered.
It's for 10mm shafts, the antirotation pin is in the correct location and the 9mm arms look about the correct length. This one will go on the Tiger since it has the sloppiest head right now. If it works out, the other two Panteras will get them in short order.

You need:

HN70001 2mm X 10mm screws and jointballs
HN70184 9mm jointball arms
HN70700 anti-rotation pin
XT61110A jointball spacers
XT61110 metal Swashplate

Sure, the one on my Xtreme was a very nice swash, smooth, slop free, and a nice chunk of metal.
