It is going to be longer because you are adding thrust washers into the grip. So it has to be longer.

well i tested it tonight and its still doing same thing and now i have thrust bearings in it....i am stumped on this one.... heres how it went i got it light on its skids and was hovering then head speed got faster and faster and motor sounded like it was speeding up so then i gave more pitch it shot up about 5 feet when i tried to hover it the pitch would not hold and started coming back down... as it was coming back down i decreased my pitch but then my heli wanted to go back up... i am so stumped with this....

I am positive that there is either a problem with your collective servo (maybe some teeth are missing) or your head assembly is faulty.

With the old 5mm spindle it should be this way.

http://centuryheli.com/support/manu...f/2nd_pdf/6.pdf

From the center hub one has the dampers, then an M5 x 10 flat washer, then a CNBB1350 bearing, then on the outer side of the grip is another CNBB1350 bearing, then the smaller M4x10 washer, then the larger M4 x 12 washer, and finally the locknut.

I do not know what parts you are using for your thrust bearing upgrade and the 6mm spindle, but if they are the 6mm upgrade from Century, then the assembly would be the same as the Raven in step #3 & #4 here:

http://www.centuryheli.com/support/...nlBkltEdtn3.pdf

From the center hub again, would be M6x10 flat washer (two if you want harder damping) then the CNBB1060 radial bearing on the insude of the grip. Then the other CNBB1060 on the outer part of the grip, followed by the M8x13 washer, the inner race of the thrust bearing (the one with the larger ID), then the thrust bearing, then the outer race of the thrust bearing (the one with the smaller ID) (NOTE: drop them on the end of a pencil, the one with the larger ID will drop down further), then the locknut.

Installed as above, either system will operate smoothly, with NO binding on spool up.

Also be sure to set your mechanical set-up, as described by the sticky of SteveH, at the top of this Century forum here on RR.

FYI Those parts are EXACTLY the same as Esky
Feathering shaft (6mm) EK5-0323A (I think, but I forget the "bigger
size"

Grip bearings EK5-0393

Thrust bearings EK5-0387

ah........less expensive too.
