Hi guys,

I am running 4 tanks and started to fly it harder. But my engine bogs a lot. I even have 50 mix on throttle to aileron, elevator.

It almost did a blade stop like engine is dieing down. I am on MP5 with Align Hyper 50 (1 turn only) How come?

Is 5 tanks enough for running in?

SOS..

What’s your altitude above sea level?

What’s the average temperature were you fly??

1.25 is a good starting point for a motor that is already broke in, then lean it a click or two at a time for fine tuning.

I am in Singapore.

I was told that MP5 is supposed to run with less than 1 turn from fully closed. Is this norm?

Our weather here is about 32 degree C. and high humidity.

I run my MP2's just above the 1 turn mark, so the MP5 may very well run there, but it will depend on Fuel used, outside air temp. and altitude. Those vairiables are why there is no hard set possition for the needles, starting at 1.25 out will most likely be on the rich side, less of a chance for damage to occure. Slowly sneaking up on that needle sweet spot is what I find to be the easiest, and least likely for damage to occure.

Asking what other people's needle setting is pointless. It will vary based on how worn in the engine is, the fuel being used, the temperature, the air density, humidity, and muffler back pressure. Just tune the engine, and when it runs well, THAT'S what your needle setting will be. Maybe it ends up less than a turn out for you, maybe it ends up at 1.5. Until YOU tune YOUR engine at YOUR field with YOUR fuel, you won't know what the needle setting should be. Like was said above, start rich (1.5 - 1.25) and lean from there until it runs well.

Thanks guys for the input. I am just afraid that 1 turn is too lean. But again someone told me that MP5 has tons of back pressure to the fuel tank and therefore feeding more fuel than usual muffler which cause the engine to be rich even though it is even 1 turn.

I am on 20%.
