I glued the top two cowels together on my EC 155 which got rid of a join and also made a peg at the back of my cowel which then enabled me to just slide the top on and screw into place from the front. As I only now need two screws to hold it on, I mounted them from inside so you can't see them. Only issue is that if you want to really get inside you now have to remove the head... But how often do you do that? I will try and post you some pics later as I am typing this in my phone. The OS 70 on straight fuel will be more than enough power. My ec155 is on runryder somewhere!

Hi Ron
I just looked up the catalog it doesn’t have the scale all’s it got is the length 1680mm ,width 300mm & height 490mm & kg 8.0
I need to get a couple of pilots the right scales though. I see Starwood have a winch made for the Dauphin looks great too.

1/7 scale figures.......I may have something.

I work for Bass Pro part time (for the discount) and they have figures called "Hunter Dan" and a female figure I can't think of the name of. I'm trying them in my UH which is 1/7 scale. I'll let you know how they fit if you're interested. They are about $20 each. Since I'm building a Police heil I'll have to dye thier uniforms but other then that I think they'll be a good fit.

Hunter Dan and Hunter Ann are only 8" tall so they are more like 1/8.5 to 1/9th scale.

Put them in last night. Hunter Dan is a pretty good fit so I'm thinking I'll order another one and get a couple of Vario pilot heads with the helmet. Hunter Ann was a bit on the petite side but both look to fit right when sitting in the seats which is all I'm concerned about. The 1:6 pilots I have are too big but can be used if I "re-size" them according to a conversation I had with Joe at East Coast Vario. I may try that on another heli I'm working on.

I have taken the 1/6th scale pilots and given them a TUMMY TUCK !! Cut about 1/2 inch from the tummy then peg and glue them back together .. works nice!

That's what I did for my JetRanger (1:7)... I got a "GI Jane" helicopter pilot, which is supposed to be ~1:6, but her legs were overly long in proportion, so shortening the legs brought her to about the right size.

I was going to go the "tummy tuck" route and shorten the legs and arms to try and keep them somewhat proportionate for my BK 117 project.

Hi Guys
I’ve just purchased a Helitronix Mixer it came with a 9 page Manuel looks like you need to be a rocket scientist to get it set up, I’ve just found out my JR 10 X heli radio has not got 3 or 4 servo 90 degree swash function is this going to be an issue with using the Helitronix Mixer have I gone over my head by going 4 blade head on my Dauphin??

Why not do 3 x 120 CCPM instead, or...you may be able to send it in to Joel and have his new software loaded to it where the mixer takes care of the CCPM functions for you and you leave your Tx on single servo swash setting.

Your door slide looks awesome! Your one "helper" must be related to "stretch Armstrong".

Patty, the helitronix mixer does the ccpm for you. As far as your radio you will set it up as a single servo .. AKA like a rapter Pretty simple ..

Hi Dr Tim
I plan to use 4x Futaba BLS 351 servos on 90 CCPM mixing on the swash it’s a bit of over kill but better to have more than less
I’m still working on the fuzz getting there slowly but can’t wait to get to the Programming the mixer configuration mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Cheers patty

I'm using two V2 Helitronix mixers currently and find them very easy to set up. You should have the LCD programming display as the setting tool for the mixer. The inputs to the mixer are the three "JR" coloured cables that at first should connect to the Elevator, Roll and Collective Pitch outputs of your receiver. You'll use the simple no mixing, single swash functions in your transmitter. Going from memory, if you hold the Helitronix mixer in front of you so its three cables are sticking out the top of the unit, the four sets of connector pins are assigned to the swash servos as follows:
Far Left set = Elevator 1
Second Set from Left = Elevator 2
Third Set from Left = Roll 1
Set on Right = Roll 2
The 1&2 of each function could be backwards but it's of little significance.

When the mixer programming is started, simply select 90 deg CCPM then play with the servo directional actions (reverses) until all servos move in unison when the collective stick is moved. If the collective is backwards, just reverse the collective function in the transmitter. Same goes for Elevator or Roll (Aileron) functions. Start here.

Gyros for cyclic stabilizing can come later but get the basic operations working first. Don't be too shocked if you have to swap the pair of Elevator or Aileron (Roll) servo leads to get the desired swash motion. I mark all cables and leads once things work so I know which sockets each plugs use in the final assembly.

I'm using a pair of CSM SL720 gyros with both of my mixers and have NO issues with stability or setup. Ask and I'll hand over the "secret numbers" that simply work on first try, regardless of model.
