I have very little tail control on my Sceadu .50. It's new I purchased it from Heli Proz,it come with (Mah)Main rotor blades and the tail blades are also (Mah) Carbon blades. The mechanics on the tail are moving as far each direction as the can without binding or touching the boom, does anyone have any ideas what to do with it? could different blades help? It just seems really slow.

what gyro and tail servo? How is it set up in the radio? What is your head speed? what do you mean by little tail control? slow piro? slow in rotating, or not rotating?

Man, I miss the eighties.

Tail Blades

I'm running the Futaba 401-9254 servo combo, It has control but is slow at turning when you crank it hard in either direction.

increasing the rudder servo end points will increase the piro rate

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

set the end points on the rudder channel to 100
the std tail blade length is 92mm, most use the std freya tail blades but i'm using 95mm sab's on mine
the head speed should be around 1700 min
make sure you have selected the digital servo on the gyro switch and the delay should be 0
you need to get the mechanical set up so the limit pot is as close to 100 as possible (adjust the servo ball possition to get this
and don't forget the higher the gyro gain is the slower the tail will work)
and a low head speed will = a slow tail

Yup, overall travel is set too low

I agree with the overall travel settings in the radio being set too low. This has a major effect on the rudders rate of turn. I was at 100% overall travel but the JR 410 directions call for 150%. This made the tail really come alive! Worked for a friends 611 too!

Consider using the Freya tailblades and holders .

I agree with bumping up from 100 on the rudder channel. Try increasing it from 100 to 120. Do not worry about exceeding mechanical limits. The mechanical limit is held in place by the limit pot on the gyro. Bumping up the ATV in each direction will increase the rate of the pyro. It will pyro very fast with stock tail blade grips and 92mm Mah tail blades.
