Well it was bound to happen. Let me start off by bragging that I got nearly 4 batteries through the Rex today and during each I did a back flip. They were all over but they were there. Then on the last battery I had one of those "just one more" moments and that is when it went bad. I decided to try a more stationary back flip, so gave it less positive collective to start and flipped it over. Well the first part went as planned but I didn't stay negative long enough and the heli ended up diving nose first full out wide open into the grass. It was an explosion of parts! It was bound to happen some time but I wish it hadn't happened after 30 minutes of great flying. Anyhow the important bits all seem ok and that includes the battery. The worst part is that I stripped one of my impossible-to-strip HS-65MGs. I haven't tested out the rest but I think the gyro and esc are ok ... or at least really hope they are. Here is a pic I took at the field

I went to ReadyHeli and added up all the damage and if I was going to fix everything and buy a new HS65MG, it would cost me $80 if nothing else is wrong. So this will BY FAR be my most expensive crash to date.

Edit: Oh and as a good note, the magnetic canopy mounts did a great job of saving the canopy!

Geez TJ, Wow, I give you props for #1 -- the most clear picture and Most descript description of a crash and associated cost's involved and # 2 trying something out of your comfort zone regardless of the outcome Props to Chris A.K.A TJ.

Thanks guys. As for the photo, I try to keep a photo of each crash for record purposes. This time I thought I would note all the damage on the photo and it worked out great except for RR killing the photo when I uploaded it

WOW, sorry to hear about the crash TJ,but like doug said, sometimes you have to push yourself to go to that next level. But I bet next time, you either are a little higher up or are a little quicker to bail maybe. OR this could just happen again.

Again, sorry to hear it was the Trex. Personally I have been patching the king together for when Dougie gets in my ear and has me pushing it a little.

Sorry to hear about that TJ. You are making great strides though.

No one can buy Heli flying skillz. Its paid for by blood sweat and tears. You can either do it or not. TJ..... You can do it. Youre gaining the skillz needed to take it to the next level. I applaud you for that.

Youll get her rebuilt and do better next time.

We need video proof around here.

Proof that the 65MGs are not indestructible

Actually, how it did that damage and not hurt anything is a mystery to me. Maybe there is more damage than I can see.
