We all know the nose in "mental trick" and method to fly nose in.

Even on the sim, I can't get my brain to relate to upside down.

Is there a "mental trick"?

Not a single one, no. Both inverted nose-in and tail-in are combinations of normal and reversed normal tail-in controls.

I think these are correct when compared to normal tail-in ...

Inverted nose-in
- rudder = reversed
- aileron = reversed
- elevator = normal

Inverted tail-in
- rudder = reversed
- aileron = normal
- elevator = reversed

TJ is correct-- NO easy tricks-- just practice on the sim in a CONTROLLED manner. I never used the sim as a Video game-- just a purpose driven brain training aid to unfamilier orientations. Tons of practice is the only way.

You dont need no sim to learn inverted. I almost got mine inverted once but flipped it over before it crashed.

seriously,I really dont think its possible to get good at inverted without a sim UNLESS you REALLY have deep pockets and want to progress slowly, and prefer building to flying,It took me a LONG time to get the cyclic AND throttle movements comfortable(STILL not 100% with throttle)and if you had to learn each stick movement AS you were hovering a real heli it would take FOREEVER.the first time I went inverted I atleast had the basic movements down already.I dont see how you could concentrate on keeping the heli hovering WHILE you were experimenting what each stick movement does.there is just not enough time before the heli will get out of control
