i almost finished my quick 50 and i wonder if some of you have already had several flights with the (standard) heli without having problems like glitching, etc?

thx

I don't have experiance with the heli but i was certainly considering buying it when i have the cash. I would be interested in your setup and how it flies for you when you get it done.

You find that the Quick 50 set-up is just like the 30 !!! You be able to get more pitch out of the blade with the 50, And the power to weight will make your flying "HOTER"

Picked up my quick 50 sport today VERY NICE it didn't come with the blue frames but the G10 one instead. It came with a metal cooling fan is this standard. Also when going through the parts I noticed that the blade grips have got thrust bearings do you have to disgard one of the standard bearings to fit them the instuctions are not to clear ??.

i got everything in the kit included, but in my kit there was a bag with additional parts put in later (some parts were forgotton) and also some additional pages in german with other pictures to make things more clear like fe. how to put the bearings in the rotorhead, etc...

1 part from the tail was made the wrong way, i sent a mail and 3 days later i received a good one

my experience was that the kit was complete and untill now satisfied with excellent service (german supplier)

Hi everybody
was having a great time building my 50 until it came to the clutch & fan assy. I had some difficulty making it run true I got it to .006" runout I wasn't happy but I could live with that. The trouble realy started when I went to fit the clutch and found that it didn't fit to the hub so I attempted to remove some metal off the hub with emery paper without success. My next move was to remove the fan & hub assy from the motor which is where I'm at I can't seem to remove it. I've tried the mormal things like punching the shaft while holding the fan didn't work I also tried a little heat with a heat gun still no success. I then made a puller and bolted it where the clutch bolts to and suprise suprise ripped the thread out of the hub can be fixed with helicoil. has anyone had trouble with the twin tapered collet system.

sorry to hear you have these problems,

i had them to at first but made a moule like this :

flat aluminium bar 8 cm x 1 cm high x 3 cm wide
2 holes without thread M3.5 to put an M3 x 20 in the fan and in the middle a hole of M5 x 20 + thread M5

then it came off at once!

maybe the M3's you used weren't long enough!!

if i were you i would sent an email to the email adress for technical support and ask for a new hub

i think it will be ok if you sent the old broken hub back, let us know how this ends!!

it is true that this is definately a weak point in the assembly and does not improve allignment in advantage of other systems with only 1 collet

Yes I no what you mean I had a bit of bother fitting the clutch as well needed to rub down the hub with a bit of wet & dry to get the clutch to sit true. But did not need to remove the hub and fan to do it.One thing you might want to look at is when you are fitting the motor in (well mine anyway) the clutch did not fit through the top of the cooling shroud I needed to eather make the hole larger or put the shrould over the fan before fitting the clutch to the hub. Making the hole larger was the easyest option. Something to look at anyway. I hope the rest of your Q50 goes together as planed.

thanks for your help I got it appart today but it didn't turn out well. The top coller was jammed on the crank shaft which only made it tighter when putting presure on it. I ended up pressing the hub off and the top collet was still on the shaft which was cut off later engine is fine the hub and fan are scap. I will be looking for a fan assy with one tapered coller and my supplier will be hearing from me.
