I just picked up the new ys motor. What is the best pipe for this motor the Hatori SB19 or the mp5?

Just the 19 with the stock header. It runs great and is easy to tune. You will loose midrange torque with a ported header. The 19 was tuned with the stock header, change it and you change the tuning. If you want to run high head speeds I suggest the 16 tooth pinion to lower the gear ratio.

Chuckie what are you considering high head speed? with the os 91sz pumped I have been running it at 1900.

If you want to run 1900 or 1950 then run the lower gear ratio. The SR will last the longest at 15300 or 1850 with the stock N9 gear ratio.

well it looks like the mp5 is no where to be found. I have the Hatori SB19 on it's way.

I still have some questions on headspeed. what pinion are you guy's running? at what head speed?
Is it better to have a higher head speed?

I emailed Todd B. and he said run with the stock pinion and main gear with a headspeed at 1850. Any higher will overspeed your YS. It has all the power you need box stock.
