Questions-

"What altitude did you shoot at?"

Noobs I was 2000ft above the ground.. 9500 ft. Above sea level.

"about using Google maps (satellite images) or Live maps for these high"

Our county has a great GIS program and I showed the owner there photos of his ranch to see if they would do.. He wanted a newer photo and one with better resolution.. Anyway that added some pressure.

"How many shots Cedar?"

Tabb I shot aprox. 400 shots per pass. Once with the 28mm prime (what I ended up using) and again with the 20mm prime. These were taken with my Moms new D300 with the clause that if I died Kelly (my wife) would replace it : ) I don't know how many I stitched... 20-30?

That's an Enstrom.

Surprised to see a "G" tail number though...all North American registered aircraft have an "N" tail number.

"G" is reserved for United Kingdom registered aircraft.

When in doubt...auto out

Or were you just using that as an example picture of the type of heli you flew in...not THE actual heli

I shot this for a client using my t-rex 600 and flying FPV, it covers 2.5 km by 700mts aprox, I was flyin at 1 km above ground level, I flew with two packs in paralell for about 13 mins. I swore never to that again, it was really scary and risky. The arrow points ground base.

Holy smoke Cranester, what downlink system did you use for that, and did you ever experienced any interruption/interference on the down feed signal?

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience...

I use the most powerfull system from hobbywireless.com, transmission was really good exept when I was flying directly over my head. I also used a 14 dbi patch antenna

Which system is it, link?

What happened right over your head, weaker signal, or total blackout?

Just some degradation in the signal but no blackouts at all, the transmitting antenna was directly over my head and transmitting to the sides not down, so when I was 2.5 km away the signal was great, but directly over my head not so good.

Impressive, could it be smart to have the antenna in an horizontal poss when going that high?

I mean, the difference might be less that way high up than vertically possisioned?

Asking these questions, doesnt necessarily mean that im going to try this altitude, at least not for a couple of weeks

Not really, you don't usually fly directly over your head. I should have found an area for ground base that was further away to avoid this.
