| First, make sure the gyro is sensing the correct direction. To do that give right rudder and note the direction the tail blades move, I think on the EVO the servo pulls the rudder.
Now pick up the heli and turn the nose to the left and the servo should do the same thing the stick does when giving right rudder, if thats wrong flip the reverse/nor dip switch.
Then turn the gain all the way up in heading hold and adjust the sub trim on the rudder channel till you can center the servo with the stick and there is no drift. Then turn the gain down to 50 percent and test fly.
The JR gyro can use the GYRO screen in the 9c so set the MODE to GY and AVC 50 to get 50 percent gain in heading hold and NOR 50 to get 50 percent gain in rate mode.
