I have both of these gyros and love them both. The CYE is easier to setup but both performed the same.

Not to bash Spartan, but I could never get the Spartan to work well on my Aurora or vibe 50. I had trouble with the HH, as it would drift on me, never giving me a really good solid tail hold. It did give me excellent piro rates, very consistent.

I'm now using the Solid G, with the same servos 8900 and Fut BLS with excellent results.

fwiw...

Wow...

I just got the visual of lowflyers post...I think I'm scarred for life!

Seriously...I've got two Spartans, both work as advertised...If trim is out as a suspect, I'd probably go back through the setup to be sure the right servo type is selected...I set one up incorrectly and had a small drift on the bench...reset the servo speed and all was well...Your results may vary..

I had the same problem with my Spartan, the servo moving to the left with just 14 minutes of use.
I have a new heli. sitting waiting for a repair or new Gyro.

I was having the same problems with my Spartan on my Stratus. I tried everything except for gyro tape. I replaced my gyro tape and the problem went away.

At the suggestion of Bob White (Finless) I used two pieces of tape below and on top of the metal plate. Fixed my problem immediately.

Wow.... Rock is a friend of Ink. Ink is having fun with rock busting his chops. Leave it go man!

Let me promote my fav gyro. JR770 no worries about initialization, it doesn't matter I have found. If I forget to put it in HH mode on startup/initialize, I flip the switch and go fly. This seems to be a non issue with this 770 gyro.

But really guys, notice the LOL in inks post?

Now Ill step in it for a second.
Most of the complainers are from the UK and also Sparten is a UK company. interesting to me.

All electronics can fail and when they do, if your a fan, you will think of every way to justify it other than poor design or not the best product but lets all face it. We have our favorite manufacturers and will defend them rightly so or not.

The good? Sparten makes a good product that performs, but as with everything sometimes there are failures.

I trust just about if not everything Curtis puts his name on. I have seen nothing but good about his blades, Gov and Gyro. This man is a legend in the industry. As good as the new pilots are, at the time frame he was on the top, no one could beat him. I trust someone with a track record. The other companies have to prove their quality (to me) by creating a track record.

Now before you flame me and I suspect I have ticked off quite a few Brits, I love Monty python

You have every right to cheer for who you want to, but do keep an open mind.

As good as a product is, you HAVE to take into consideration, longevity, maintenance and failure rates.

Rock, Get the 770 and see what I mean.

Oh and to be SURE you understand where I am coming from. I do not wish to put down any other company. I only wish to promote the product I have faith in. If I have offended anyone, Ill first say I am sorry if I have offended you. Not my intention.

Please let Ink have his fun. You know, freedom of speach.

yeah this is the major thing that bugs me about RR. You can't have a joke with a mate without some people getting on their high horses. They must sit at home trolling the forums looking for some agro to dish out. Personally I don't think a lot of RR members actually read all the posts and most of all can't comprehend them.

So no I am not trolling here looking for agro....I am interested as a prospective spartan customer at what problems may lie ahead. I am kinda thinking about sticking with my tried and trusted 601's and 611's.

Undeserved hostility, one who expresses it, the act of it, etc. Seen in MMORPGs by players to complain about being attacked by a monster without them attacking it first. Can be a noun, verb, adjective, possibly adverb.
