| Took my 600 pro out for it`s maiden flight tonight. Set the engine as per the instructions main needle 5 turns out. The heli wouldn`t hover at that, too rich. Gradually leaned it on the main needle until it hovered ok, engine still very rich though. Generally stooged about until the fuel was low. All the time I was checking the engine backplate and it was barely warm.
Refuelled her and re-started the motor. As soon as i pulled the glow clip off the motor died. Tried this several times no luck.
Fitted a new OS8 plug. Engine started and ran fine, but died after about 2 mins hovering. re-started the motor and same thing, as soon as I pulled the glowstart off it died.
Fitted a new Enya No3 plug - engine started ok but died again in the hover. Same thing again. Fitted second No3 plug with same result. No plugs left, pi55ed off - went home. Does anyone know what could be causing this ? Never had this before with a new motor.
The engine is rich not getting hot, I just can`t believe all these plugs were duff.  |
