Tonight, I was thinking to change the original metal tail pushrod to CF pushrod so when I used the ball link plier, the pushrod suddenly broke. WAAAA ... I am lucky man ... Can't imagine what will happen if I didn't change it ...

I just bought 2mmx1000mm CF rod which was not from Hirobo. I think you can easily find it at your local hobby shop. ... I am a lucky man ...

Does Hirobo have a 2mm rod (Metal) just like the one that comes with the EVO 50?

Do you just glue in the CF rod into the adjustment rod?

I don't know if Hirobo has 2mm metal rod but I guess they didn't make it. All I think Hirobo makes for Sceadu and Shuttle. They want you to use CF pushrod for Freya.

I simply glue them together with epoxy. Everyone in the hobby tells me to do so. I had tried it with Lepton and TRex450 and no accident so far with more then 200 flights on each plane.

Epoxy will be fine. 7 helis I have all have carbon pushrods.

Check Central Hobbies(brand name) carbon rods.

RcHobbiesandMore.com has them. Some kits come with ends, some dont. But the shop has both so you can't go wrong.

If your going to run a guide, which I recommend, get the clear shrink wrap for the carbon rod. Hirobo part.

If not the carbon rod will wear and snap at the guides.

I had a carbon rod on my XSpec before, but it snapped when I had a boom strike the other day, so now I am searching for a replacement. I used the clear shrink wrap on this carbon rod, but it was not a 2mm carbon rod, more like a 5mm rod. Do they have clear shrink wrap for a 2mm carbon rod?

Use the 5mm with the clear shrink wrap.

I got the 5mm carbon rod from Hirobo with the shrink wrap from Xcell. I should be good to go.

I use a 2mm steel rod from another company seems to work well.

If Hirobo did have such a thing it would be a M2x730mm.

You could get creative and couple together a Sceadu 2mm rod with either an 80mm or 90mm M2 rod. The Freya rod guide has a hole for a 2mm rod. I would use at least 4 guides.

Also, keep in mind that the more mass in the T/R control system will present a greater load to the T/R servo.

I went with the original Freya 5mm carbon rod. Costed $25, not so bad. I am using it with two guides in combination with MA's clear shrink wrap. I think two guides will be enough.

Two guides is definitely enough and exactly one more than I've used for the past year with that same rod.

I agree, IMO the three rod guides are not required and may
add to the breakage problem.

When I replaced my aluminum pushrod with the carbon one
I only used two guides and spaced the first one farther
aft toward the tail to prevent binding or pinching of
the rod in the first guide which may cause a fracture or
rod failure as the servo horn rotates in an arc pattern.
Our servos do not move with direct linear motion, they
move in an ARC or curvelinear motion.

Thanks.

When I get my radio back from service I will see what I'll do. I used three guides before, it was not fun to line them up....
