OK, I have a stumper. A quick background, Spektrum DX6/AR6000 being installed in a Blade 400 Plug 'n Play. This makes the 7th model setup up my DX6. I have 6 other helis that use this DX6/AR6000 combination.

All my other helis are set up in the following plug positions

1 - battery (not used)
2 - throttle (Channel 1, Throttle)
3 - aileron (Channel 2, Aileron, lower rear servo)
4 - elevator (Channel 3, Elevator, front servo)
5 - gyro (Channel 4, Rudder)
6 - gyro sense (Channel 5, Aux 1)
7 - Pitch (Channel 6, Aux 2, upper rear servo)

With the first 6 helis, the right DX6 stick gives pitch and roll control and the left stick gives throttle/collective and rudder control.

With the 400 PNP, set up just like my other helis, the right stick gives roll and throttle/collective control and the left stick gives rudder and pitch control. I have checked, double checked, even triple checked and I can't find a fix for what is happening.

All 7 receivers are Spektrum AR6000, I even tried swapping receivers around, but this strange problem remained with Model 7.

EDIT: I swapped in a spare receiver and had the same problem. I then took a receiver out of a proven good combination and it worked just fine in the 400 PNP. So it seems like it might be a receiver issue? I always thought that the transmitter set the mode, not the receiver. Darn strange. Is there anyway to use the existing receivers and have pitch/roll on the right stick and throttle/collective/rudder on the left stick?

Your thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I just tried setting up Model 8, with the same issue. Frustrating!

Have you confirmed that the Stick Mode on the models 7 & 8 are the same as the others ?

Is there a way to set stick mode? I didn't notice any comment on it in the Spektrum DX6 Owner's Manual.

It switched modes or it switched models?

The title of your thread says "switched modes"

confusing!

Switched Modes. I alway mess up on Mode, but normally the Throttle/collective function would be on the up/down motion of the left stick. It seems like I have two receivers that read the throttle/collective function from the up/down motion of the right stick.

I've isolated the issue to two receivers. Both were "spare" receivers and I was using one to set up a Blade 400 PNP.

I always thought that Mode 1/Mode 2 was set by the transimitter, not by the receiver.

The DX6 is based on the "older" XP662, and that I am certain was/is capable of having either Stick Mode 1 or 2.

If I remember correctly, the Model memory stores the Stick Mode selected so it could be that your model memories 7 & 8 are set to Stick Mode 1.

I havent had a play with a DX6 for some time now and cannot honestly remember. Does it have an all digital trim or is one of them an analogue trim on the throttle ?

All digital trims. I've gone over the DX6 Owner's Manual front to back with no mention of Mode 1/2 assignment or switching. I've isolated the problem to two receivers. The programing that I entered for the 400 PNP, currently assigned as Model 7, works just fine with my other receivers exept for the two trouble receivers. I've even gone through the binding process again with both receivers, trying to get them to pick up on the correct mode. There was no change when rebinding.

Ahhh okay... that makes sense now. So its just 2 receivers that are giving you the incorrect responses and not the 2 model memories.
Sorry, didn't quit understand initially.

You are correct in that its the transmitter that defines the sequence and not the receiver.

It is possible that the programming on those 2 receivers are corrupted and are re-routing the servo data to the wrong ports.

Just to be absolutely certain, do you know anyone that uses Spektrum receivers so you can try those 2 receivers on their system to verify that they have the same problem. If so, then send the 2 receivers back to Horizon explaining the situation so they can test and replace/reprogram them.

I have 8 AR6000 receivers. Six of then are just fine. The problem seems to be isolated to just two of them. I'll see if I can send them to Horizon to have then reflashed.

Thanks for your help!

You sure it isnt as simple as programming the servo reverse and swash menu??Sounds like a couple of servos or functions are moving the wrong way.

I wish it were so simple and checking servo reversing/CCPM settings, but switching to a known "good" receiver with no changes to the transmitter programming, solved the problem. The two "bad" receivers exchange tghe right and left stick functions. As an earlier poster mentioned, the receivers appear to mis-route the servo coding.

If this was simply a transmitter programming issue, all receivers should have responded the same to the same transmitter settings/programming.
